Acropolis remained closed – tourists are angry | DW Travel | DW

Hundreds of tourists who were not informed about the strike went back to their hotels angry. “That can’t be. I came from Australia to visit the Acropolis and now I can’t see anything,” a tourist from Perth said on Greek television (ERT).

The Ministry of Culture criticized the strike. The employees had called for protest because many ancient sites were on a privatization list of the Greek state. The government stated that this had been a mistake that had since been corrected.
